Where to move in Cambridge for a young family?
Hi all! We just recently moved to Cambridge from abroad, and have ended up in a place we are not entirely happy with: we're on Kings Hedges Road and none of us are able to sleep at night due to the heavy traffic plus motorbike and car racing going on during the night. I worry about our kids running into the road etc too. Our boy is due to start school in September, so although we've only lived here for ten weeks we're looking to make a move already before the start of term in September. We are now trying to make sure we end up in a place we'll be happy in, so I thought I'd ask for your advice :) We would like a garden, somewhere quiet. Three bedrooms at least, as we need an office. I've been looking at Trumpington, and at villages like Barton and Coton. My husband works from home, but I have to get to the city centre every day. We are used to cycling, in all kinds of weather. And in July our new family cargo bike gets delivered, which comes with an attachment mechanism for our baby's car seat, so from then on we're good to go biking with her as well :) So - any advice? Some have told me Trumpington is too far out (doesn't seem that way to me?) and that all the development going on will be disturbing. I love the idea of living in Barton or Coton but there are very few rentals out that way. (If you've got any leads on this let me know!). We're open to suggestions and any help is very much appreciated. EDH
