Correlation between amount of bets and functionality?

Hi! I've been addicted to refreshing Etheroll's adress on Etherscan throughout the day for the past weeks. I love seeing the whole page (latest 25 tx) only covering the last 30, or even 15 mins. Between these active intervals however, there is very often a moment of silence (often for hours).

My question: Does this mean that the site has a lot of downtime/periods of decreased functionality, or is it because a smaller group (or even one person) stumbles over the site and places a lot of bets, before leaving again.

I rarely track the adresses that places bets (unless they are very big), so I don't really have a good impression of whether there's a lot of people are betting, or some people betting a lot.
