Noah - Q:- Do you have any good suggestions for Opensource/GPL CCTV DIY solutions ??
Gday I am writing in for question for the show:-
..
Ive been looking into open source/freedom DIY CCTV solutions
-
Has to run on low end hardware that doesnt chew much power
-
Able to work with low end affordable cameras that stream via RMTP and not commercial/paywalled
So found Ive found Zoneminder
and Motioneye OS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw_vGbxdQys)
..
From what Ive seen with various feedback on a few places, zone minder records in jpeg
Anyone actually rolled their own CCTV open source Linux solution ?
- The goal would be using an N3___ SOC Intel AIO ITX mobo solution along with an SSD to store the data that then nightly gets uploaded to a FREENAS box or Next/Own Cloud server
- Ideally if i can upload the footage to cloud server/vps between 1am to 6am that would be good because often ISP's in AUSTRALIA have different quota's and this time frame is often the freezone or more data timeset
Thanks again
