More gems (in all Dimensions)

For PC edition

This may have been already suggested several times, but I'm sure mine is a little different :D Just looked it up, seems like an uncommon idea :O

tldr: Gems (topaz, sapphire, ruby, amethyst, ...), rubys in nether, topaz (maybe amethyst in end), everything in overworld. gem blocks like emerald blocks. Maybe better trading (3 emeralds = 1 amethyst, 3 amethyts = 1 sapphire)

So, basically it's about adding gems like rubys, topazes, sapphires, amethysts, and maybe more (emeralds are already in the game) (maybe rare pink diamonds too? I'll probably make a different post with that see here).

But I think they shouldn't just be randomly generated in the overworld. I thought about rubys being generated in the Nether, because there's already everything red, so you can't find them too easy, and topazes in the end, because of the yellowish color of endstone (maybe amethysts too, because they are purple?). And everything in the overworld? Edit: They should also be able to be found in chests in structures, of course if it's fitting (no rubys in end, no sapphires in nether, common gems in jungle temples, less common gems in strongholds, ...).

You should also be able to craft blocks from them like emerald blocks.

Also, letting them have different rarities allows for extended trading with villagers (eg 1 amethyst is worth like 3 or less emeralds, 1 sapphire is 3 amethysts, ...) -> more expensive things to buy! Changed: Only one other gem accepted, maybe rubys because they where planned to be used instead of emeralds. The purpose is to allow more expensive items (enchanted books get capped at 64 emeralds, they could cost up to 71, which is actually a prime number, but that can be rounded).

This list is open end (kinda), as there surely are more things you could do with gems (I also thought about having rings with effects, where gems could be used together with rare stuff, but that's not part of this idea).

(Tried to post that before 10 karma, probably didn't come through afterwards)
