Mix AMD and Nvidia cards in the same mining rig (Linux)

Been googling a little, but cant find much info if it is possible to have both AMD and Nvidia cards in the same rig. Running Ubuntu 16.04 today with 3 cards and the AMD gpu pro drivers, and are looking in to getting 1 or 2 Nvida cards as soon as I get my new risers. I might even use the AMDs to mine Ether, and the Nvidias for some Equihash based currency where they seem more efficient.

Is there any experience on a setup like this ?
