[QUESTION] Camping with expensive acoustic?
I'm planning on going camping next week and I want to bring a guitar with me. I was thinking of bringing my "cheapest" acoustic, a Taylor 214, which is roughly a $1200 guitar. It's also kind of a "gem" in my opinion so I'd be really upset if it was damaged.
It's just me and my girlfriend going, so there is no risk of it being damaged by drunk/rowdy people. I have a hard case for it as well so it won't get damaged when travelling. And I plan on keeping it in the case anytime it's not in use, and storing the guitar in the car overnight.
The weather is around 20 degrees Celsius (68 degree F) and around 70% humidity.
Is there any foreseeable risk? Only thing I can think of is humidity, but high humidity usually isn't too bad for a guitar as long as it's not 80-90%.
Also, any tips for caring for the guitar when camping? Should I keep it out of the car during the day so it doesn't bake in a hot car? Is fire smoke bad for it?
Thanks!
