As a novice trying to learn all that I can, will things change for the casual "investor" in August?

With the hard fork coming, Segwit and Lightning network, etc etc....will things change in terms of say, Coinbase and Bittrex in terms of day to day upkeep/trading/exchanging of funds? Trying to be prepared as best I can as a casual Bitcoin enthusiast
