Happy Birthday to my first D&D character!
Okay, so technically he wasn't my first character, but he was the first one to participate in an extended campaign, as opposed to a handful of oneshots. But I digress.
His name is Tarlach Halloran, a Tiefling Paladin of Bahamut (Oath of Vengeance). He loves the thrill of battle, and is completely devoted to his twin sister Zarissa (played by my friend). After losing his parents and himself to a dragon attack, Zarissa made a pact with a devil to save his life. In response, he devoted his life to fighting chromatic dragons and fiends, with the ultimate goals of slaying his parents' murderer and saving his sister from a fate worse than death.
Not sure if this post will get much attention, but I do want to say that this last year of D&D has changed my life. I am now DMing for a group of friends every week, and not a day goes by where I don't think of their characters and the world I have built for them. I am a better, more confident storyteller with much better improv skills than when I started.
