beginner programmer, best c++ book ?

I am starting with c++ no exceptions, my mind is made up. I want a book that is good for beginners but not a c++ for dummies sort of thing. I honestly am not put of by a 1000+ page book and am expecting to get recommended one. I want something with lots of exercises too. obviously something relevant for 2017. Thanks.
