Another Potentially Fatal Road Debris Incident
Every day I drive from Baytown to the Energy Corridor and back on I-10 and am astounded at the level of disregard a lot of these guys have for their vehicles and equipment but especially for everyone else out on the road with them. Sometimes it's official branded company trucks but more frequently it's what appear to be personal vehicles loaded down with potential projectiles without any means of securing them to the vehicle. I've had my own vehicles damaged by some of this stuff as well actually. In one case, I got names and pics of the damage and contacted the company and they tried going silent on me after I showed them the pics.
After reading last week's story about the individual that was killed when a trailer hitch ball came through her windshield and killed her and seeing HPD's pretty much indifference to the lack of care Houston's drivers seem to have for the roadworthiness of their vehicles, I'd like to know when enough will be enough. I am about to drive through town again in a minute and no doubt will see HPD running radar. It'd be nice to see them pointing binoculars at cars looking at their hardware and writing big $ tickets for that instead/in addition to speeding.
