Running one-shots for your individual PCs but have it be in their dreams. Yay or Nay?

Hey all!

An idea popped in my head that I think would be cool to explore! As we all know, it can be a pain to schedule a session. Does anyone have experience either DMing or being a PC in a one shot that takes place in the character's dream inside the main campaign?

I think this would be a good idea to both scratch the DnD itch and build a character's story without taking away from the main campaign.
