Looking for some advice.

Backstory...35 years old making a career change. Have been hired as an commercial electrical apprentice. The company is not paying for schooling. I believe its possible to become a journeyman without going to a physical school? Are online courses a viable option? I searched the side bar but couldnt find an answer. Thanks for reading!
