Why Jeff Garzik is not the right person for this " Blocksize Problem"

Before stating the real reasons I would like to clarify that Jeff Garzik is a world Class Coder, brilliant Engeneer, amazing manager, productive CEO and some of the code he worked at in his life will stay on this world for long time, this post is not about how bad he is because I can't find anything bad.

However he is not the right man to solve the problem of the blocksize because he has a history of trying to "patch " this problem to hasty and without thinking too much about it

When? October 03, 2010, 08:13:42 PM He posted a "PATCH] increase block size limit" on bitcointalk

For him the problem would have been PATCHED in less than 20 lines of code so he posted without anyone asking for it. Not Satoshi, Not Hal Finney not any single soul he thught it was a problem he posted the solution only to be stopped by Theymos who was a kid at the time: " Applying this patch will make you incompatible with other Bitcoin clients." So Theymos saw the problem and corrected Garzik, because obviously Garzik didn't saw that before, he was in a rush to patch the blocksize problem. How do I know Theymos was right at the time? Because the person who knew more about bitcoin in 2010 said this

"+1 theymos. Don't use this patch, it'll make you incompatible with the network, to your own detriment. We can phase in a change later if we get closer to needing it. "

Jeff Garzik already tried to patch blocksize limit once, too quickly , without estimating the whole problem.

Asking someone who is known for having already rushed on a matter and made mistakes to produce a RUSHED solution is a bad business decision.
