Copied save data on usb flashdrive. Now Wii U doesn't recognize it. Will a Y-cable with female plug give enough power to read the drive again?
Hi,
I didn't read about it and unknowingly have copied save data from Wii U on usb flash drive. It was formatted for my Wii U and coping went well. Next time I've tried using the drive o copy the saves back (after factory reset) it doesn't work.

Is the data unusable after resetting the console? (using the same Nintendo ID)

Perhaps it is a problem of usb flash drive not receiving enough power . I've read that as the drive fills up with data it requires more power. So I've came up with a plan of using a Y-cable with female plug to try to get the flash drive recognizable by Wii U again. Will it work?
I've read everywhere that flash drives are not suitable but no mention what would happen if you gave them more power.
