'''TheAssViolator@todayilearned: TIL that Pat Morita (Mr. Miyagi) spent his first 9 years of his life in a hospital and when he was finally well enough to leave, was sent to a Japanese internment camp in Arizona.

• sporkachoon: Working in Las Vegas hotels the past 20years, I've met many celebrities - on of the absolute best was Pat Morita. He would come in all the time to a hotel I was working in the late 90's. He'd crack jokes with us in the drive when he'd arrive and leave and was very personable. Too bad they're not all like that. Good tipper, as well.

• johnTheKeeper: I disliked the whole tipping culture in the states. If you do your job good enough I'm going to give you more money! and if I don't tip you enough you're going to screw me! :D

• xion09: Servers in my area generally make 3 or 4 us dollars an hour...they literally live off of tips

• literallyOfficer: literally they literally live off of tips?
