A Career Long Alliance Members Review For Anyone That Cares.
For anyone that cares. Let me just preface before I get ripped apart. For all purposes I've been there since the beginning. 1999/2000. I grew up on this band. From a 2k lurker, joined alliance in dec 03, hell I was even a mod on the old dmmb. Saw them live a bunch of times in the golden era. 2002,2003,2005. Last time I saw them was opening night on the Carver City tour.
ok. Why mention this? Because this review is based off a fans interpretation. I've seen so many comments, "well your ears must be better than these 10 star reviews". bla bla.
Initially when I heard Days of Self destruction I said I was disappointed. Turns out I started liking the track. And honestly, its probably my favorite besides Wiping of the Dead.
This album isn't bad. Its just not a cKy record. Its CIG volume 2. Which makes me reiterate my initial statement, that they should of retired the name till the 3 of them start making music again.
I was drawn to cKy because of the original signature guitar riffs. There gone. Im sorry, this just isn't the cKy that I fell in love with. The songs are good, just not cKy good. Chads lead playing is top notch. Way better than the dude Derons got right now. Which makes me miss cKy.
This album just sounds like a mainstream attempt that the cKy I grew up with would probably tear to shreds.
I wish them best of luck. I just wish they would take the high road and call this something else to they all figure this out.
