May: "If there are any lessons to be learned they will be, and action will be taken"
Perhaps I am missing something obvious, but what exactly does she mean "if"? Is it not self evident that there are lessons to be learned?
Obviously whatever investigations have not yet taken place, but even without these, is it not painfully obvious that there are clearly lessons to be learned? We will understand more of these as the case moves forwards.
(Also I realise she is in a particularly difficult position right now, but 'if' wtf?)
