Skyrim VR is important for (PS)VR because 30.000.000 gamers have played Skyrim and might be intrigued how it would be in VR

In November 2016, Howard confirmed that Skyrim had sold 30 million copies since its release in 2011. Source: http://www.glixel.com/interviews/skyrim-creator-todd-howard-talks-switch-vr-and-elder-scrolls-wait-w451761 or wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Elder_Scrolls_V:_Skyrim#Sales

That is the importance of the name Skyrim. It catches the attention. E.g. Farpoint is essentially Halo, but without the Halo name. If Sony would have come with Halo VR + Aim (on PSVR, I know, not possible) then it might have attracted 10x more gamers without too much problems. Farpoint is excellent, but nobody knows (the) Farpoint (name).

That however is different with Skyrim. Everybody knows Skyrim. And even if only 1% of those gamers want to play it (again) in VR, you are still talking 300k copies and thus 300k PSVR sets.

That's the power of numbers, and that is why Skyrim is very important for PSVR (and VR in general)
