Is G Sync worth it for 1080p 144hz (GTX 1070)?

Hi all,

So my build is nearly finished and I wanted some advice on getting a monitor. The cheapest 1080p 144hz G sync monitor I can find is around £330 compared to a monitor without G sync at £209.

Is this price difference worth it? So far I've temporarily paired my PC to my TV and the screen tearing is pretty awful, not sure if this is lessened by the use of 144hz.

Take into account also some of the games I play are locked to 60 fps (metal gear rising, skyrim etc) and I'm still experiencing screen tearing.
