CPU backplate blocks M.2 slot? Saw it off!

Tech Support Solved

Image of sawed off back plate. Story below.

So I was having some CPU Cooler backplate conflicts with the use of the M.2 slot on my motherboard. Originally, I had to put the backplate in a horizontal position instead of vertical meaning it wasn't quite fitting as nicely onto the back and was causing there to be a bit of the backplate getting in the way my M.2 SSD as you can slightly see here.

I thought this was okay until I ran AIDA64 for an hour and got some pretty high temperatures (close to 100c on stock settings as seen here) so that got me thinking that having the backplate in a horizontal position was causing it not to do it's job properly.

Then I simply decided to saw off the bottom of the backplate (and some filing) which would let me not only properly mount the CPU cooler but also allows the SSD to slow in with no issues. Risky yes but I then ran AIDA64 again for an hour and CPU never went above 83c which is a huge improvement considering it's even hotter today than yesterday. Woo!

Anyway just figured I'd share with you guys what I did as I thought it was pretty cool.
