25, always worked in Hospitality. Want to be a Mortage Loan Originator.
Hello, the title basically gives the tl;dr.
I'm 25 and have a diploma. Never finished college which I was attending for IT. I've been working in hotels, resorts, and now a bed and breakfast since I was 19 so I at least have years of experience dealing with customers.
I know to be a MLO I have to take a course to get a license and pass the exam with NMLS. What else do I need to break into this field from where I'm standing at today and having no experience in it? I feel like it's not as easy as just taking a course and an exam. How do I get experience for positions which require experience? I know a lot of them only require a diploma which appeals to me because I have no desire to go back to college, but some do ask for 1-2 years experience.
Also, is Allied Schools a good place to take the courses online at? Any other recommendations or advice is appreciated.
Thank you.
