This subreddit is a broken record
Those of you that read this subreddit and complain about it consistently are either incredibly short-tempered then make a quick switch or not willing to fight for change.
Do you honestly think that r/hearthstone cares what you have to say? "There are too many twitch highlights," "Why do you complain so much?," "Another shitpost for cheap karma," "Why don't we have competitive discussion?," and my all-time favorite "if you don't like the game then stop playing it," are just a few examples of discussion that is being placed on this subreddit consistently. Hasn't it always been this way and only really gotten worse?
I my be ignorant but has r/hearthstone really taken any steps to address these issues resulting into actual change for the subreddit and YOUR overall positive experiences? I don't believe so. If I'm correct r/hearthstone got around 29k posts a month last year? Why would they change anything when you keep giving them more threads?
I get it. I REALLY do. Last year I was part of the issue. I think I spent around 477 hours(as a new subscriber) on reading and posting just to be like the rest of you. It was an addiction that grew over a short amount of time. I didn't really begin to get extremely frustrated until I started getting pretty good at seeing the shitposts. The immensely excessive twitch highlighting doesn't really bother you until it starts being most of the front page, does it?
Let me offer some advice to those of you who are in the same place I was a couple of months ago. Just stop reading...but don't totally let go. After I unsubscribed from r/hearthstone I took it too far (for me)- I unsubscribed from r/competitivehs, r/Wow, and from the channel on Discord as well as just pushed away anything that even remotely was connected to Reddit. I have since found a good balance. I enjoy looking at these threads and read the titles daily. The content may be full of BS sometimes but it's fun to imagine the salt happen to others, still. By doing this I am not directly benefiting r/hearthstone financially near what I used to be, if at all.
If you seem to hate the subreddit more than you enjoy it (R/hearthjoyment), just stop clicking and watch from the frontpage; otherwise you can't really complain without being hypocritical.
