I wrote songs used by major artists and received substantial airplay. Was never recognized or paid.
At one point sought professional help thinking I was having a breakdown. I'm good ten years later but definitely wrote the songs and haven't been paid. ip lawyers find me out and know who I am. I was followed one day by two men claiming I was the "bogey" and that they had to get me to the studio without specifying who they were or which studio. Again I did seek professional help thinking I had a mental or drug problem. Because no one would pay or credit me. I don't understand how this is legal, especially when people know who I am when I'm out and I've never met them....if they can find me out, then they could probably transfer money to my bank account. It's at a regular bank. I remember one woman screaming, "go to your bank and ask them for your money!" I do not own a bank. In any way. Another ip lawyer found me out over the week. He knew where I was going and referred to the venue I had put into a search engine on my phone for directions. As if... I want my money and if this many people know who have access to me readily and my phone apparently, then show me the money. I remember working at one studio where they got really mad that I had a phone and said, "you haven't learned your lesson yet?" If I'm not being paid then yes, I need a normal job and a phone. Any ideas? Serious request. No the radio does not talk to me and I could care less if people follow me or have access to my phone. I'm not paranoid as much as anxious. Most people who suffer a lack of privacy have money for security or something like that. I have nada. Do they expect me to say that the songs aren't mine? Because that to me is even more bizarre than complaining about intellectual property concerns. I'm hoping this has happened to someone else and they have a good solution. I contacted labels with both cease and desist and settlement letters with no success obviously. I'm sure in the end I'll be okay, but I do get anxious when someone I don't know is aware of who I am and won't say how or pay me. Thank you for listening. Parent won't help. Tells me that I am crazy and no one believes me even if the situation is what it is. I mean I'm fine too having no solution, but sometimes I think the answer is easy but with limited experience in this industry, I'm at a loss as to what to do. I think it would be more unhealthy or bizarre for me to go " nope. Definitely not my song." And like walk away... lol
