From dinosaur to laptop

Hi, I had a phone call today. My dad got a laptop which is a big jump from the prehistoric windows xp computer he had before.

He said he was using microsoft outlook on the old computer. Is there an equivalent programme he can get on the laptop.

He said he was able to open the inbox using virgin and said there is over 50,000 emails. (I've told him for years to delete unnecessary emails). So now he wants to know if there is a way of clearing them all from the inbox and as he said "go back to 0"

He also said that there is no address book when he uses the laptop and is there a way of transferring them over as well?

Thank you so much
