Craigslist Seller Shipping Item

So I know about all the scams that people paying via Paypal for a Craigslist item being shipped can pull, however in this case the situation is reversed for me:

Seller of item in my city says he doesn't want to do the exchange in person with cash because of past experiences he had. So he wants to ship the item only. I haven't confirmed the payment method, but I was going to suggest Paypal.

I am wondering if there is any risk for me specifically. Because if he doesn't ship the item after I pay him, I can just let Paypal know and get the refund? I'm wondering what my best option is in this case.
