Should I propose to me Ex

So here's the situation. We have been together 5 years I'm 24 she's 26. We have had such an awesome relationship. Never broken up before. We've had two places and 3 cats. She's my best friend. Up until this year everything has been great. I became wrapped up in family matters (my family) and it has caused a lot of stress between us. I mean we talked about marriage just this past April. But I would get angry with my father for reasons and then I would take it out on her. Never hit her or anything bad but I would get into arguments with her. We have had something that I personally feel was true love. And I know she felt the same. So we broke up last week, and I've been a wreck. The things is that I have bought an engagement ring prior to us breaking up. I have no doubt in my mind she's the girl I want to marry.

My question is do I still ask? I already have the ring so it's not like I'm doing this to try and get her back. I just figure before I return it do I ask her? I know it's not a good time, but I love her, so I have to try right? Don't break my heart, Reddit
