Using Synology for video backend?

I'm new here and recently started reading about Synology (unrelated to, but with the abandonment of unlimited ACD).

I have web-based software that stores and streams video via AWS S3/CloudFront. Would I be able to interface with a Synology setup (either to retain a local backup copy or serve as primary storage)? S3 was convenient for the ease, but the price will outweigh the value over time.
