I gave my long-forgotten Point Horror book collection to a fledgling horror enthusiast

I went home to catch up with my Dad a few weeks ago. As is often the case he had removed some boxes of my old stuff from the loft and he wanted me to remove anything that could be thrown away or sold (he basically has generations worth of family clutter).

Among the cornucopia of crap I found a plastic bag full of Point Horror novels. I had pretty much forgotten that they existed, which is strange considering that they were the foundation of my love of horror.

That said, beyond the nostalgia trip I didn't have a use for them so I said he could sell them or give them away. He advertised them on a freebie site and a few hours later a lady came to pick them up to give to her son. Unfortunately the son didn't come along but it was great to hear about this kid with his fledgling horror obsession. I'm pretty sure the books have little critical 'value' but maybe in another 20 years the recipient will pass the dog-eared books on to someone else :)

Among the novels were:

  • The Train (Probably my favourite)
  • Funhouse
  • April Fools
  • The Snowman
  • Beach House
  • The Cemetary
  • Camp Fear
  • The Accident
  • The Yearbook
