Grew my hair out for 2.5 years, time to snip and change my look - style advice needed

So here's my current untreated mophead and for reference, this is what I was going for, kind of. I've been thinking about cutting it for a few months and it's about time I actually get it done but I'm quite stuck on where to go since I'm not sure if any style I like will actually work with my head/face shape (not the best of jawlines, slanted forehead) and the curse of how wavy and hard to work with it is. I would really love some pointers.
