BIOS troubles on a Lenovo Flex 4 - what are Fast Boot and Intel Platform Trust Technology? Should I be worried?

I recently purchased a Lenovo Flex 4 and I'm very pleased with the performance I got trying out Ubuntu MATE 17.04 on a live USB, but before I take the plunge and expunge Windows once and for all, I've got some concerns about the BIOS/UEFI. See, not only does it have Secure Boot, but it also has Fast Boot and Intel Platform Trust Technology. What ARE these things? What do I need to do with them? Is it safe to just switch them off and plow ahead with Ubiquity?
