Crash after pressing a button to start

Recently I wanted to add some(more) mods to PD2 and it started crashing right when I started the game. Now I got rid of all mods and reinstalled the game and currently it has 0 mods(not even BLT or BeardLib), but whenever I launch the game and I press a random button to begin after the intro, the game just freezes up for about 5 seconds and crashes. Any clues?
