[Acne] Lemon juice doesn't help red bumps?

I have been reading up on skin care from different sites online. They all recommend something along the lines of lemon juice, aspirin masks, or toothpaste. Why wouldn't these fix my freaking red acne bumps? They do not have puss and are not oily. They are not dry or moist. They are simply annoying as all heck red bumps. Mostly on my chin and a little on my forehead. They don't pertrude that much, maybe 3 millimeters at most How do I combat these devils, then?
