I was in too deep, ended up stealing someone's medal accidentally.

Story

Get ready my special cisgender snowflakes, this is a juicy one.

Back in high school I had just transferred in from out of state and the school had a JROTC program for the army. I didn't have that class though but they always sounded like they were having fun when I walked by. So one day after class I walk in there and chatted up some of the students while they were getting ready to leave. When they asked who i was I told them I was in an earlier class (I didn't say their class but it was implied). So for weeks I would visit their class every few days. Some days I would skip my other class to be in theirs. It worked out great because there were two instructors so the one i saw either thought i was with the other one or was just didn't notice me during class.

When the sign in sheet came around I just passed it along. The Major who led the class even gave me a job to do (everyone had some kind of job like logistics, maintenance, exc..). Mine was finance and another cadet was assigned to train me. (He was later fired for embezzlement of car wash funds I became the new head of the finance department) I knew I was in too deep at that point. They even gave me a uniform when i told the Major I lost mine. I was able to go on field trips to the military base and once to Florida for a drill team competition, "earned" a few medals and even went out with one of the girls in class to smooth my cover. The end of the year rolls around and I get invited to the actual base to spend the night in the barracks and attend the award ceremony.

I was worried they would find out now when my name was not on the list but no one asked. I didn't expect anything to come from it and went to support my friends. Every jrotc class from the school was there along with the other branches from other schools. It was packed so I was very surprised when they called my name out of the 20~ that were chosen (5~ from each school). So I went on stage in front of a crowd of proud parents and soldiers, got presented a medal for Distinguished Cadet, Promoted to tech sergeant (I had told the boss I was a sergeant when introducing myself for the first time) and a group photo with my pretend army group. Ill post it here in a few days when i find it. #classicDoberFinch 12/10 Would steal someone's medal again. r/totesreal Actually went to the testing center where they see if you are fit enough to join and you take a pledge. There is a funny story about that time too but ill save it for later.

I couldn't decide on a title that wouldn't trigger everyone so i made it honest and mysterious. I am just waiting for that person to say it is fake so i can bust out the photo. ;3
