DJI Spark Tips

This may save some time for new Spark owners.

TURN SPARK ON (OR OFF): Press button on battery once then press and hold for TWO seconds.

RESET THE WIFI SSID: While the Spark is "on" - Press and hold the button for NINE seconds. The Spark will BEEP three times. When you let go you will see the Factory set SSID when you look for the Spark's WiFi.

FLY MORE BUNDLE INITIAL SETUP: Forget the DJI online instructions (as of this writing). Scanning the QR Code will not work you will need to do a Wifi Setup and activation. The Wifi is set for the remote and so is hidden when you try to connect. You will need to (1) RESET the WiFi as described above (2) RESTART (turn off then back on) the Spark and then you should be able to see the Spark WiFi SSIFD and then complete connection and activation from the DJI GO 4 app.

ACTIVATION: (At least from Android). The DJI GO 4 did NOT automatically switch from the Spark WiFi connection (with NO internet obviously) to the normal WiFi (with internet) connection although it ASKS which connection to use for internet. So be prepared when it says downloading (for example) to switch to your internet Wifi Connection and then when it says uploading firmware to Spark, to switch back to the Sparks SSID - so don't walk away and think its going to just work once you've made the connection.

EMERGENCY STOP: If you have the Spark in hand and need to kill the motors hold onto the battery and tilt the Spark to its side. JUST BE CAREFUL to keep fingers away from props and watch that the Spark doesnt try to "fight" to rebalance itself (i.e do it quick not slow) - this will kill the motors. (updated 2017-07-05)

Hopefully comments can add more tips. The above information would have saved me an hour at least trying to scan, connect and activate the thing over the weekend - end result of multiple Google searches so just passing it along :-)
