Videogames music

Hey guys. I like classic prog rock above all, but i also enjoy listening to some videogames music, and i wonder how much influence did prog rock have in this domain. Many synth-oriented themes are close in style to ELP, Gentle Giant, Rick Wakeman or (sometimes) Frank Zappa, and games with more orchestrated sound (like The Legend of Zelda, whose music is the best i've heard in videogames) remind a lot of early Genesis, Camel, Caravan or Steve Hackett.

Have you found any similarities between these two genres? Do you think progressive music did have an impact?
