I can't get into this game for the life of me

So I've tried to get into this game numerous times and I'm not gonna lie it looks gorgeous. I like the raids and I have a level 30 Dragoon and Warrior registered. But I cannot for the life of me stand the boring quests that boil down to kill x amount of monster or fetch quests or the grinding you have to do. Seriously I hate the grinding and the fact you have to do EVERY side quest available in a zone to get the xp needed to advance in the main quests. The combat...well it's gotten better since I've had more than 3 abilities but it's still okay at best for me and I've played both as a DPS and tank, also the story is a bit meh for me up to the point I've gotten too.

Am I missing something?
