Windows 10 repairing C: drive, then black screen after login

Just as the title says, I tried booting my desktop today and was met with the scanning/repairing C: drive message. After that ran its course, I signed in and had to wait ten minutes due to the "Preparing Windows" message. Finally I sign in and I am met with a black screen and a cursor. I can still Ctr+Alt+Del and open up task manager but nothing works so far. I've tried safe mode but that still shows as a black screen as well.
