Potential Gym Fix

I am one of many players who plays in rural areas. And the only issue that has come from this new gym system is the fact that gyms don't ever change hands. And considering that coins are earned when your Pokémon is returned to you, I have no way to make coins. So, perhaps Niantic could implement a system which checks if a gym has not been attacked. And if that is true, at the end of every day it rewards the player 1/6th of the coins that could have been generated from that gym. Nothing outrageous, just enough to have an income again.
