Safety razor is stuck. How to get it open?

Hello. I have a safety razor that has worked well for me so far. However, I am facing a problem now where I suddenly cannot twist it open. There is a grooved section on the bottom of the handle where it needs to be twisted to release the blade holders on top. That section at the bottom is stuck and won't twist. I don't see any visible signs of rust or hardened product, so I'm not sure what is causing it. Any ideas for getting a stuck safety razor to open again? Unfortunately, I do not remember the specific brand of safety razor it is, but it seems like a standard design based on others I have seen.
