screwed up with WW rankings

So I was ranked by two companies, company A and company B. I really, really wanted the job at A, and B is ok but not amazing, so I ended up ranking them both 1 to maximize my chances of getting something (I was pretty sure someone else would take the offer for A). Now assuming the match info that's up right now is correct, I matched with B but the position at A went unfilled. So... Is it worth contacting A and trying to work something out with them? I understand the repercussions if they say yes, but could I get in trouble with CECA if they say no? Has anyone else been in this situation and know what to do?
