3 speed fan with z-wave
Hello, I searched for months to find a small fan for our bedroom. Finally found one however it turns out it has a controller built in (3-speed). It's a Monte Carlo.
I thought about bypassing the controller, wiring all 3 phases so the fan is on max and then using a regular ge z-wave fan switch. I did read though this may be noisy (hum).
I'm not sure that's the best idea as I'm going to run the fan on low (90% of the time) and this would leave the 2 unused phases live.
I think im out of options other than use the included controller and scrap any automation ideas. I guess I could get a spare remote and hack it to an esp or similar to simulate speed control/on-off etc.
Am I missing anything. Is there a 3-speed z-wave fan controller that has one output per speed?
Thanks,
