Bank Closed My Account for negative balance?
So a website screwed me over and auto renewed my account, so it put my bank account into a negative balance and I got overdraft. Tbh the past few months i've been scared to check my account cause I knew I was getting charged for overdraft but didnt have money to pay for it. The last time I checked I think my balance was -50, about two months ago. Anyway, I'm 19 btw, (I made the account when I was 17 so I think my mom is still like a co owner?) and my mom told me my bank account was closed and she didn't know why. I don't recall closing it, although i'm happy it is because I have a new bank and wanted to close that account anyway. So i'm guessing the bank closed it because I had a negative balance? Do they do this? And do I still owe them money? And does this hurt my credit score or anything? Kinda confused/scared. I dont care about the account closing like I said I wanted to close it, I just don't want to find out I still owe money somewhere down the line.
Edit: Thanks for the posts I will call my bank and ask them what happened.
Edit: I just found a letter they sent me, it seems they just made my account balance 0 and then closed my account.
