Dell Repair Experience
So I recently sent out my Dell XPS 13 (2016) to repair a dent and alignment issues that occurred during a fall. I sent it out on June 8th. I was then notified that a LCD cable was not in stock and my repair had been delayed. On June 22nd, I received a call saying that my part was back ordered and wont be available till July 7th. I was pretty surprised. Interesting how dell's number one PC is in such low stock on parts. The next day I received a call saying that Dell was going to offer me a refurbished model with same or better specs. I accepted because I didn't want to wait 2 more weeks for an already lengthy process. I ended up getting a laptop with same hardware (this time with a fingerprint sensor). I also received Windows Pro instead of home.
Although it ended up with a positive ending, I find it interesting that Dell is so short on parts for the XPS models. Also that they delayed notifying me of the back order for 2 weeks. Interesting. Anybody else have similar experiences?
