How do Feminists feel about the Modeling profession?

[Feedback/Discussion]

Misogynist? Empowering? Something else?

The profession is highly image-centric, where women really do little more than wear different clothes and have pictures taken of them. Yes, people always argue, "Oh, there's so much more to it than that!" but let's be real. That is the essence of it. You go to different places, wear different things, and have pictures taken of you.

Considering the heavy emphasis on trying to get women into science and other male-dominated fields, do Feminists feel that Modeling is holding Feminism back? Or at least, do you think reinforcing the image of women as sex objects is misogynistic?
