Flirting

So I've been talking to a girl I'm interested in but I am not sure if she's catching my flirting with her. I would say things like "Hey beautiful, how is it going? " and things like just smiles and compliments, that sort of things . I don't know what I'm doing wrong or if there is something else I need to do to show my affection to her. That's why I need help.
