Should I toss it?

Hey everyone, first time grower had a quick question -

So once my mycelium grew through my straw, i added my casing mix and kept it in dark for 5 days.

5 days pass, and im ready for the fruiting stage, but there was green mold on the surface of the casing mix - NOT the mycelium just the surface of the casing (looked like it was sprinkled ontop of the soil, not deep either, literally like a powder on the surface).

Anyways I scooped the top layer off with a sterile spoon and added some salt

The mold is gone, and like i said it was only on the surface. (No pinning has started either, i have just started the fruiting stage)

Im wondering if these shrooms will be safe to eat, if they end up growing at all that is.
