Just gone No-Contact, any tips?
Some background: Mom was abusive as a child and teenager, only in the last 5 years has it gone down recently but that's because i've moved to boarding school so i only see her once/twice a year (and incidents still happen during then), I'm very LC with her, she texts me maybe how are you doing once a month and I reply with Okay. I decided to stopped replying a month ago then she kept calling my phone "worrying for my safety" a two days ago before I sent this message:
This may come as a surprise to you, but I don’t want to receive calls or texts from you again. I’ve come to the realisation that having any type of relationship with you is damaging and toxic to my self esteem and quality of life. I’m not going to go into detail but the abuse you have put us through as a child and a teenager has caused me so much pain as an adult that I no longer believe having any communication with you is healthy for me anymore. I don’t have any desire to talk things over with you so please do not ask me to. Let me emphasize, I DO NOT need to explain myself.
I’m not doing this to hurt you but I’m doing this for myself. I wish you all the best in your life and hope you respect my boundaries. From today forward, please stop contacting me.
It's been 24 hours since I sent the text and I know she's read it but i haven't got a reply other than the fact my grandma has sent me a voicemail telling me this is unacceptable.
Is there any tips on what I should expect? Should i expect a reply from her?
