2017 PGA Quicken Loans National Picks & Discussion

We're headed to Maryland this week, and it's gonna be HOT! Who you got?!

From FireDFS 2017 Quicken Loans National First Look:

Course: TPC Potomac (first time used since 2006 Booz Allen Classic)

Yardage/Par: Par 70, 7,139 Yards

Scoring Expectation: Mid double-digits winner - should be similar to last week with pretty ideal scoring conditions minus the driveable Par 4.

Greens: Bentgrass

Field Size: 120

Cut Rules: T70 + ties.

Weather: No major weather concerns of note except the heat and a little breeze - winds are expected from about 10-15 mph on Thursday/Friday with temperatures in the low 90s all four days.

--DRAFTKINGS PICKS FOR CONSIDERATION--

ELITE

Rickie Fowler ($12,000) - He had an absolute bust performance at the St. Jude, but came very close to shipping his first major at Erin Hills. If he can keep his driver humming the way he did at the U.S. Open, Rickie should be able to bomb it and throw darts at these greens all day.

UPPER TIER

Marc Leishman ($9,800) - Leishman may not be carding many top ten finishes (his only one this year was his win at the API), but he has been about as consistent as they come in terms of overall T2G dominance and versatility across numerous different courses, particularly with his iron game. It's a steep price to pay, but I think it's worth it for Leish.

MID TIER

Brendan Steele ($8,900) - Another week, another no-brainer Brendan Steele lock-and-load. Despite this week's field being substantially weaker than last week's, Steele is somehow $100 cheaper on DK and still one of the most well-rounded long-hitters in the game. Don't think twice about it.

VALUE

Kevin Na ($7,400) - He may not be back to 100% yet, but Na is showing some serious signs of life over the past couple of weeks. If he can put it all together and fire off four rounds, we know that Na is quite capable of piling on the top tens, even if his mental game might prevent him from shipping it.

BARGAIN BIN

Charles Howell III ($7,000) - Finally, a warm welcome back to one of my favorite golfers on tour! Chalk Howell III is back, and although he will undoubtedly not be very chalky this week as he's returning from layoff due to a rib injury, he's still one of the most versatile T2G players out there for a discount price, particularly in this field. Most importantly, however, he's highly unlikely to miss that cut for you. Load him up!
