Finding new work flows

Hello everyone. So I've been struggling to write new tunes for many months. I used to make tunes quite regularly and was very motivated. It seems I got bored over the same routine of production. Loading ableton, browsing library, randomly loading a plugin, running fingers on the keyboard etc., that did not really worked for me later. I literally fell asleep on desk. That is bad. So I decided to make few bold changes. Bought a new audio interface. A UMC404Hd ( it says 4in and 4 out - but it is actually 2 outs as the other 2 are internally tapped to the main out as a copy -> F.U Behringer) I like the product despite their false marketing. as a device its great. Next on the list are pedals. 3 pedals to start. Goal is to have outboard fx devices with limited tweaks. One thing digital domain have is infinite number of settings. Which eats away valuable time you could put in to actually writing a good song. So having limited number of devices with limited settings will help to over come that obstacle . This is the first time I'm using pedals. so this is me learning about pedal mechanics for the first time. AI has premaps built in which saved me some extra bucks. So that's the plan. I'm sure this is not the first time or the only person this is doing or has done. I would like to know your thoughts, problems pedals could have in common, such as noise. etc.

cheers.
