I'm thinking about getting Planechase Anthology, and want to make the decks into Commander, any thoughts?

I have a bit of extra money laying around, and wanted to get Planechase Anthology (it's a format I missed, but always wanted to play).

I also want to make a Commander deck for each of the decks present in the Anthology.

My question is, how viable would this be? Would both of these formats work well together?

Since I would be making this for use in my own group, how expensive would it be to go this route?
